Lauren Quijano, NYLPI’s Health Justice Community Organizer, is quoted in a recent press release, along with other immigrant advocates, in response to the arrests of 225 community members in New York State during a six-day raid dubbed “Operation Keep Safe” conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In response to this and many other raids against our communities, immigrant rights organizers and activists, community leaders, and directly impacted individuals gathered this past Saturday, April 21st in Foley Square for an #ICEonTrial People’s Tribunal to condemn ICE for its egregious enforcement tactics and systemic abuse.
