NYLPI’s 2017 Report Detained and Denied in The Village Voice article

In the year since [our report was released, we’ve seen that the deficiencies are continuing, and in fact things are getting worse as more and more people are being detained.  People in immigration detention, like Mohammad Monir Hassan, continue to be denied care while detained in immigration detention, and requests for release for humanitarian reasons are denied.  NYLPI continues in its goals of exposing the deplorable conditions in immigration detention and leveraging legal, medical, and community resources to improve care and get people out.
