The New York State Assembly

Sarika Saxena, HJ Staff Attorney/UndocuCare Project Manager testified today at the first ever New York State Assembly hearing on immigrant access to healthcare. NYLPI was one of two legal organizations chosen to testify. Our testimony called on the Assembly to expand coverage for all immigrants, continue covering former DACA recipients, expand oversight of local hospitals’ care for uninsured and undocumented New Yorkers, and hold additional hearings on the deplorable conditions New Yorkers in immigration detention experience.
