NYLPI and coalition partners held an inaugural community facing convening on the rights of persons with disabilities to accessible medical care. A NYLPI client spoke of her experience working with NYLPI and the City Commission on Human Rights which resulted in improved accessible care at Lenox Hill Radiology. Other panelists from City and State civil rights enforcement agencies spoke about the law and the process for taking complaints. Representatives from those agencies were also on site to take complaints. NYLPI and the coalition hope to bring similar events to other boroughs in the coming year.
