New Yorkers Support Waste Zones Plan

They told officials that New York’s waste industry is reckless and badly in need of reform, and that the need for good, safe green jobs in New York City is real. NYLPI Director of Organizing and Strategic Research Justin Wood delivered testimony saying the zoning proposal means “more green jobs for New York City.” You can read his written testimony here.
Our allies in the Transform Don’t Trash NYC Coalition also showed up, including the Teamsters Local 16, whose member Talli Kebbeh gave powerful testimony about having worked off the books for an unscrupulous company, which has since closed down:
