New Report Illustrates Just How Dangerous Private Sanitation Operations Are

A new report from the Transform Don’t Trash NYC coalition, of which NYLPI is a core member, shows that there is a dangerously high number of unsafe commercial sanitation trucks operating nightly on the streets of New York City. Research asserts that private sanitation companies operate trucks with high rates of faulty brakes, bad tires, broken signals, and unsecured cargo, which endanger workers, pedestrians, and NYC as a whole.
